An opportunity to find out more about the Bournville Village Council

The Bournville Village Council is so much more than just the official residents association for Bournville.
We are involved in organising or assisting most of the events that take place here in Bournville, such as the popular Bournville Village Festival each summer.

Perhaps you would like to help us. Why not come along to the Council's Annual Public Meeting being held on Sunday 21st January between 3pm-5pm at Dame Elizabeth Hall. Firbank Close, off Oak Tree Lane.

The 2017 Bournville Christmas Tree

Each year BVT decorates the Christmas tree, situated on Bournville Green in front of the Quaker Meeting House, with hundreds of coloured lights.

The tree itself is interesting; it is an Atlas Cedar and was planted in 1948, to commemorate Dame Elizabeth Cadbury’s 90th birthday. It is of course a living tree and generally requires a little light pruning each year. This year the switching on of the lights was performed on the 29th November by the May Queen, Annie Haddon. The tree is owned by the Trust who pay for the lights including the big cherry picker needed to decorate it.

The tree gives huge pleasure and hope for the future to tens of thousands of people who pass daily on the outer circle route, especially on those grey winter days.
