The 2018 Bournville Village Festival

This year’s Bournville Village Festival will take place on Saturday 30th June 2018 at the Cadbury Recreation Ground, Linden Road, Bournville.
The Festival has many attractions including the Craft Market (selling jewellery, paintings, crafts and cakes), Arena Events (Marching Bands and Dance Troupes), side stalls, a traditional maypole dance with a Grand Firework display.

Could you be a Bournville Festival Dancer?

The Bournville Village Festival on the 30th June, requires a great many children to be maypole dancers.

We are looking for children from the age of 4yrs to 12 yrs to fill a variety of roles

  • 4 yrs will carry the queens cloak (do not need to practice until June)
  • 5 yrs and 6 yrs will do their Petal Girls dance (historically the majority of dancers have been girls but boys are equally welcome)
  • 7yrs to 10 yrs will dance with the Maypole strings and older dancers will be Gypsies.

We practice once a week on either Monday or Wednesday depending on the role, for half an hour starting in March

Registration for dancers will be on Monday 26th February between 6 pm and 7pm at;
