Maypole Moms to perform at this year's Festival

Some of the mothers of the children taking part in this year's Maypole dancing have agreed to dance themselves.

In a change to our normal programme of dances, this year a number of the mothers of the maypole dancers have agreed to perform themselves on Festival Day.

This will happen after the girls have finished the afternoon performance and before they leave the field.

There is still time to get involved in what could be a great deal of fun, by contacting,

Our new Festival Queen for 2018 is chosen

Congratulations to Katie Falk, pictured centre, this year’s new Festival Queen.

Katie has been dancing in the Maypole for a number of years and would have been dancing as a gypsy this year were it not for her good fortune in being selected as Festival Queen.

She was chosen from six contestants by invited judge Mr Gerrard Baldwin, General Manager of Cadbury World and his wife Mrs Christine Baldwin.

The judges said “It was a very difficult task to pick just one winner as the standard of entrants was so high, well done to all the girls that entered.”

A special mention to our runners up, Mia Evans and Gemma Seeley pictured left and right respectively.
