A big thank you from the Bournville Village Festival organisers

The Bournville Village Council would like to thank everyone, especially all of our volunteers, who helped make this year's Bournville Village Festival so enjoyable. It was a wonderful day, rewarded with large crowds basking in the good weather.

Many visitors considered the Maypole dancing, by all of the children, to be the highlight of the day. A special thank you to Sue and Olivia Walsh, the maypole teachers, for all of the months of hard work needed to make such a marvellous spectacle so successful on the day.

We look forward to seeing you all again at the 2018 Bournville Village Festival.

Fond memories of this year's Bournville Village Festival

St Francis Church Nativity

The St Francis Church nativity scene brings the vision of Christmas alive in Bournville.

It is one of the most poignant and beautiful Christmas displays in Birmingham.

Congregation members and their children of St Francis Church have created the most splendid outside nativity scene. Nestled within the cloisters of the church, it is the perfect location for such a display.

Thousands of people who flocked to the 'Carols on the Green' service on Christmas Eve marvelled as this wonderful display helped bring the spirit of Christmas alive.

The wonderful scene will remain on display until Twelfth Night.

The Carillon Shop is ready for Christmas Shoppers

The Rest House on the Bournville Green, home to the Carillon Gift Shop, has been beautifully decorated and is ready for Christmas shoppers.

It is one of the most delightful shops to visit in Bournville at any time of the year but at Christmas it is simply a unique experience that must not be missed. There are a huge range of Christmas gifts available inside and all profits go towards maintaining the historic Bournville Carillon.

Hours of opening.

Monday to Saturday 10 am- 4-30 pm.

Every Friday in December open until 5-30 pm.

Closed during January.

Christmas comes to Bournville

On Tuesday 1st December, The Bournville Festival Queen turned on the Bournville Christmas Tree Lights.

The switch on event was a wonderful evening. A crowd of over 1000 people gathered on the Green to marvel as the lights were turned at at precisely 7 pm by the Bournville Festival Queen.

The magic didn't end there. Father Christmas had taken time out from his busy schedule to visit the Bournville Green and over 400 children queued patiently to meet him and be given a small gift.
